P6
Welcome back to Term 2!
We hope you have all had a lovely half term break, it will soon be Christmas before we know it!
Themes
This term we will be continuing with our ‘Magic’ theme where we will continue exploring different magic themed stories - including Harry Potter. We will be carrying out different science experiments, making stories with colourful semantics and performing magic tricks. As well as this we will be continuing with our phonics work, number and geometry in maths, different materials for science and colour in art and design. Our RSE topic is continuing as ‘keeping safe and looking after ourselves’.
We are also going to be joining in with different lunchtime clubs across the school as well as Bristol Bears PE lessons, visits to Henleaze Infants, School Council meetings, therapy dog meets and bike ability. We are also hoping to fit in a school trip towards the end of this term too!
Therapists working with P6
Therapists will continue to visit our class on a weekly pre-arranged basis. If you have any questions/ queries about your child you can contact the school and we will be happy to direct you to the appropriate therapist.
Hydrotherapy and rebound
Hydrotherapy will be happening weekly on a Wednesday morning. Please can you send children in with their swim kits and equipment they need to swim.
Earwig
We are continuing to use Earwig as the assessment and record platform throughout school and parental access will also continue. Earwig also has an extra feature where you can send us photos, comments or video's of what your child has been doing at home which we would love to see. If you have any questions about Earwig or viewing your child’s earwig observations then please let us know.
Home school communication
As always, please use the home-school diary or email either of us with any questions and updates. If you need to speak to us for any reason please phone the school office on 0117 3533622. If your child is going to be absent for any reason we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing.
We also love to see a photo from home which you can email to us and we like to listen to news from home on our VOCA’s together as a group.
