Welcome back to Term 5!

Welcome back to the summer term!

Term 5 Theme

Our theme remains the same this term so we will be continuing to explore Green Fingers.

The potatoes that we planted are growing nicely and we hope to be able to harvest some at the start of next term.

In maths, we are going to continue looking at measure. We will be measuring height, weight and volume in lots of different contexts.

We will be moving on to our next  text which is Super Tato. We will also be exploring the story of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ as part of our phonics sessions.

In our PE lessons we are going to be doing Tennis with the Bristol Bears who will be coming into school to run inclusive, fun sessions every week. We are still really enjoying our sessions in the hall on Tuesday mornings where we work on our mobility by climbing, balancing and jumping.

In our RSE lessons our topic is Life Cycles.  The children have been really enjoying looking at adult and baby animals and matching them together. We will be looking at ourselves as babies and trying to match to current photos, the staff will be having a go too!

Swimming sessions will remain on Wednesday mornings. Please supply suitable pads for the water.

Home-school contact

Please use the home-school diary or email either of us with any questions and updates. If you need to speak to us for any reason, please phone the school office on 01173 533622 Henleaze campus.

If your child is going to be absent for any reason, we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing.

Reminder of what’s needed in school

  • Change of clothes kept in school, useful for any messy days.
  • A supply of pads (nappies) , wet wipes and creams if needed. (We will write in your diary if these are running low.)
  • Snacks and squash if your child needs these.
  • As the weather is (hopefully!) improving, please send your child with appropriate clothing. Please also send a hat and labelled sun cream as we will be spending a lot of time outside! Please also be sure to send spare clothes as the children love water play and may get a bit wet!

We will be continuing to add photos and comments about what your child gets up to at school If you have any access issues do let us know. We would love to see what your child has been getting up to over the summer if you could send us some photos!
