Early Years

Welcome back to Term 5!

We hope you had a lovely Easter break and are feeling ready for term 5 to begin!

Term 5 Theme

This term we will continue to work on our theme of Things That Grow.  We will be playing outside more, now the weather is milder. Forest school will start up again, with weekly sensory activities in our garden area. We planted lots of seeds last term, so will be tending to our plants to make sure we have lots to sell at the May Fair in a few weeks time!

Bristol Bears are doing Tennis lessons on Thursday mornings, and there will continue to be whole-school assemblies on Friday afternoons to celebrate birthdays and class achievements.

This term, your child’s swimming sessions are on a Monday morning. Please send in their swimming kit at the start of the week. Kits should include - swimming costume or swimming shorts, swim nappy, tegaderm (if required), 2 towels and shower gel.

Dates for your diary

Parent Teacher meetings - Wednesday 1st May

May Fair - Saturday 18th May

Home-school contact

Please use the home-school diary or email either of us with any questions you may have or information you want to share. If you need to speak to us for any reason please phone the school office on 0117 353 3622.

If your child is going to be absent, we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am, and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing. Thank you.

Reminder of what’s needed in school

  • Change of clothes kept in school, useful for any messy days.
  • A supply of pads (nappies), wet wipes and nappy cream if needed. We will write in your diary if these are running low.
  • Snacks and squash if your child needs these.
  • Clothes that are appropriate for the weather, especially during outdoor learning sessions.
  • If you have signed up to take home reading books, book changing day will be on Mondays. Please send in their book, reading record and bookbag on this day.

We will regularly upload photos and videos onto Earwig so you can see what your child has been enjoying in school.  Please add any comments or upload your own photos to share with us, we love your feedback and seeing what you do together at home!  If you have any access issues please let us know.
