Claremont Special

Early Years

Welcome back to Term 2!

We hope you have all had a lovely half term break!  If you did something fun then we would love to see your photos, so please upload and share with us on Earwig.

This term we are welcoming 2 new pupils into Early Years and we are very excited to get to know them and make them feel welcome and part of the Claremont community!

Term 2 Theme

This term there are so many things to explore and celebrate!  As well as Halloween and Bonfire night, we will be continuing with our forest school sessions to explore nature in our outside learning area. We will also be getting in the festive spirit with a special Christmas assembly led by Redland Church, and Christmas jumper day. In the coming weeks we will also be beginning rehearsals for our Christmas performance - further details to follow!

RSE

The theme for this term is  ‘My Body’. We will be learning about our body parts through songs and dance.

Swimming

Your child’s swimming sessions will be either on  Monday or Thursday morning. Please send in their swimming kit at the start of the week. Swimming kits should include - swimming costume or swimming shorts, swim nappy, tegaderm (if required), 2 towels and shower gel.

Home-school contact

Please use the home-school diary or email either of us with any questions you may have or information you want to share. If you need to speak to us for any reason please phone the school office on 0117 353 3622.

If your child is going to be absent, we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am, and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing. Thank you.

Reminder of what’s needed in school

  • Change of clothes kept in school, useful for any messy days.
  • A supply of pads (nappies), wet wipes and nappy cream if needed. We will write in your diary if these are running low.
  • Snacks and squash if your child needs these.
  • Clothes that are appropriate for the weather, especially during outdoor learning sessions.
  • If you have signed up to take home reading books, book changing day will be on Mondays. Please send in their book, reading record and bookbag on this day.

Earwig

We will regularly upload photos and videos onto Earwig so you can see what your child has been enjoying in school.  Please add any comments or upload your own photos to share with us, we love your feedback and seeing what you do together at home!  If you have any access issues please let us know.
